This audit was requested by the Minority Caucus of the Ulster County Legislature, including one legislator who serves as a Board Member to the UCCAC. The Comptroller’s Office had also received concerns from the community regarding the provision of services.
“Ulster County residents and elected officials deserve to know that contracts with outside agencies operate appropriately, and that vendors are providing quality services. In this case, our most vulnerable residents, already housing insecure, benefit greatly from receiving groceries and personal care items. With limited resources, it is imperative for UCCAC to ensure that the inventory of items is controlled and that their billing meets the contractual requirements. I am pleased that UCCAC accepted our recommendations.”
