The Comptroller’s Office is presenting this information to the public and elected officials so that there can be a better understanding of why the Comptroller halted payments to and contract approvals for the vendor Samadhi Center, Inc. in January of 2024. Our review of Samadhi over the last 18 months has identified serious financial and governance risks for taxpayer funds. In addition to the risks presented because of rapid growth and expanded real estate holdings, the Comptroller’s Office identified financial and governance issues including a lack of financial policies and procedures along with limited board oversight.
