Ulster County Comptroller’s Office & Citizens Commission for Digital Inclusion Host Broadband Town Hall
Kingston, NY (September 8, 2023) — The Citizens Commission for Digital Inclusion and the Ulster County Comptroller’s Office are co – hosting a Broadband Town Hall Tuesday, September 12, at 6:00 at the Shandaken Town Hall.
Ulster County residents are encouraged to attend to learn more about the Commission’s work to map current broadband access and plan for future broadband needs. Residents will have an opportunity to share their experience. Public comment will inform the Citizens Commission’s Ulster County Digital Equity Plan.
“Our Plan is more than expanding broadband connection,” said Commission Chair Jenny Lee. “We’re looking to ensure that all residents of the County have access to affordable Internet, as well as the skills and devices they need to meaningfully use them.”
The session will be livestreamed to Channel 23 in the Shandaken region and available the next day on the Town of Shandaken’s YouTube channel at youtube.com/townofshandaken.
Future town hall meetings are planned for the Rondout Valley and virtually with October dates to be announced.
The County Comptroller’s Office will also have staff on hand to provide residents information on the Ulster County Broadband Map and access unclaimed funds through the New York State Comptroller’s Office.
